The Patient Identifier is what you would like to use to identify the patient.

In most cases, a UR or MRN number is what is used. Some people may use first 3 letter of the patient’s first name and first 3 letters of the patient’s last name.

It is important that you do not use the patient’s full name, so they remain unidentifiable to anyone other than you.
